We’ve all heard people talk about IQ — the measure of intelligence that’s often linked to academic success, problem-solving, and logic. While IQ is undeniably important, there’s another form of intelligence that plays a much more significant role in both your career and personal development: Emotional Intelligence (EQ).

Emotional intelligence is the ability to recognize, understand, manage, and influence emotions — both in yourself and others. It’s the secret sauce behind effective communication, strong leadership, meaningful relationships, and resilience in the face of challenges. Surprisingly, many of us spend more time developing our cognitive intelligence (IQ) while neglecting emotional intelligence, even though studies consistently show that EQ is a better predictor of success in life than IQ.
